Gabrielle Sheridan was in full control, dishing out 37 assists and picking up 11 digs to guide Marple Newtown to a 3-2 Central League girls volleyball win over Penncrest.

Sophia Thiboutot anchored the Tigers defense with 29 digs, while Vivian Highland added 24, Lily Rehnier 16, Allie Travaglini 14 and Quinn Wiles 11. Thiboutot also was big at the net with 19 kills, and Taylor Murrin chipped in 11 kills.

In the Catholic League:

Cardinal O’Hara 3, St. Hubert 0 >> Freshman setter Olivia Oakes had 22 assists and eight digs to lead the Lions. Hailey Lake added six kills, eight digs and an ace, and Michelle Eburuoh finished with14 kills, three blocks and seven aces.

Macy Gougler scored a hat trick to help Springfield cruise to a 7-1 victory over Bonner & Prendergast.
