SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTXL) - The Sacramento State football team has a 'bye' this week, but whether or not there was a game, every week that passes is one week closer to the Hornets getting a new stadium.

Will the new stadium be a lot cheaper than originally thought?

Sacramento State has officially put out the call for contractors, and what was estimated to cost between $250 million-$300 million now appears to cost $171,240,000, according to state documents.

The new stadium, slated to be built at Cal Expo, will have an artificial field and room for 22,000 seats.
