Police closed off an area near Hudson Yards Friday evening as the bomb squad investigated a potential threat.

According to the NYPD, police responded to a 911 call about a bomb threat in the area of 33rd Street and 10th Avenue a little after 5 p.m. They said they learned from security personnel that someone had entered the area and made verbal threats.

Police said the bomb squad established a safe perimeter around the area, and a person was taken into custody, but they didn’t provide more information on whether the threat was substantiated or give more information about the person.

Around 6:40 p.m., the city’s Notify NYC service warned to expect traffic delays, mass transit disruptions and road closures, and told people to avoid the area. The MTA said 7 train service was is suspended be
