BUTTE ― Another year, another All-State finish for C.M. Russell High golf’s Jack Pinski.

The junior followed up a 72 on Thursday with another 72 on Friday, Oct. 3, on the final day of the Montana State AA Golf Tournament at the Butte Country Club to finish third overall.

Pinski, who finished ninth at state as a sophomore, was tied for first with eventual champion John Gilbert of Helena Capital and runner-up Jack Schaefer of Missoula Sentinel after one round, registering birdies on holes 8, 11, and 15.

Pinski also birdied three times on Friday, with his second on hole 8 briefly putting him in the outright lead. Pinski posted a number of high finishes this season, taking second at the Great Falls and Butte tournaments while also repeating as the Eastern AA champion last week. His 144 at s
