MEDINA, Ohio (WJW) - An improvised homecoming is held at Highland High School on Friday night in Medina.

The Hornets were sidelined when Barberton High School cancelled the game due to too many injuries.

Students, staff and athletes were feeling frustrated and disappointed -- especially the seniors.

“I was really upset because I’m a senior and me and my buddies, we only get so many games our senior year and getting one taken away is pretty sad,” said senior running back Casey Myser.

But almost immediately, the district and entire community sprang into action to come up with a plan.

Some community members offered to have their children play and some parents even offered to suit up themselves.
