DETROIT LAKES, Minn. — A Detroit Lakes park is memorializing victims of domestic violence in Minnesota over the past year.
The "Break the Silence" display at City Park was put up by the Lakes Crisis and Resource Center. It features 32 silhouettes placed throughout the park, each representing a victim. The victims range from as young as 2 years old to people in their 70s.
QR codes on each silhouette link to the person’s story. Officials say they hope the display keeps victims’ stories alive and helps prevent future deaths.
