Gritty and down to the wire.

That’s the type of game Iowa high school football fans got when Ankeny hosted Johnston on Friday, Oct. 3.

A balanced, two-way effort by the Dragons led the visiting team to victory, with Johnston taking down Ankeny – the first team to do so since Week 1 – 30-21.

“We knew this was a big conference game with us and Ankeny,” said Dragons coach Brian Woodley. “Our kids were dialed in. We had a great week of practice, and I’m so proud of them.”
