BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. — Butts County Sheriff Gary Long is responding to questions after a Wednesday after a traffic stop in Jackson .

The stop had some residents accusing deputies of using excessive force after a bystander posted a video of authorities handcuffing Kelvin Head.

Long says he's standing by his deputies, and released bodycam footage showing the arrest, and says he wants to be transparent.

On Wednesday, Long says Head was in the passenger seat of a car that was pulled over by Butts Deputies for having a brake light out. He says one of those deputies recognized Head from two search warrants the week before, and says Head gave a false name.
