New Delhi: Pakistan’s Interior Minister and cricket chief, Mohsin Naqvi, is set to be honoured with the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Excellence Gold Medal. As per the organisers, he has been chosen for his “principled and courageous stance” during the Asia Cup final trophy handover. The award, announced by Advocate Ghulam Abbas Jamal, President of the Sindh and Karachi Basketball Associations, recognises Naqvi’s decision to retain the Asia Cup trophy after Indian players reportedly refused to accept it from him during the post-match ceremony.
