ROMEO – Romeo knocked Macomb Dakota from the ranks of the unbeaten Friday night.

In the process, the Bulldogs took over sole possession of first place in the Macomb Area Conference Red Division courtesy of a resounding 39-20 victory over visiting Macomb Dakota, a team that had only allowed 6.2 points-per-game this season.

Not bad, considering the unranked Bulldogs started the season 0-2 and only scored a combined 25 points in those two games – a 39-7 setback to Rochester Adams and a 21-18 loss to still unbeaten Grosse Pointe South.

Senior quarterback Sammy Nepa, injured in that season-opening loss to Rochester Adams – a state semifinalist last season – before coming back from injury in Week 3, a 34-28 win over Utica Eisenhower. His presence on the field has been invaluable.
