BATTLE GROUND — The Post Falls (Idaho) Trojans took advantage of turnovers and did just enough on offense to spoil Homecoming for the Battle Ground Tigers, registering a 16-8 victory on Homecoming night at Battle Ground’s District Stadium.
The Trojans (3-3), a 6A school just outside of Coeur d’Alene, recovered a Battle Ground fumble on the opening kickoff at the Tiger 24-yard line. Three plays later, third-string quarterback Caden Reese connected with wide receiver Corron Carver for an 11-yard touchdown pass to give Post Falls a lead they would never lose.
Battle Ground (3-2) ended up outgaining the Trojans 267-182 in total yards for the contest, but couldn’t score until the fourth quarter when Dominick Rivas made a leaping 24-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Ethan Adams with 3:11
