CONCORD — If there was any doubt who NorCal’s top team was, De La Salle put that all to rest on Friday night.
The Spartans rolled past San Diego powerhouse and the No. 13 team in MaxPreps’ California rankings, Cathedral Catholic, at home 35-14 to win their sixth straight game.
“When you play a top-level, highly-ranked Southern California team, I wanted us to show out well,” De La Salle coach Justin Alumbaugh. “We knew they had a lot of athleticism. They’re really well coached. It means a lot to this program. These guys want to get to a state championship.”
It was a statement win that reaffirmed De La Salle’s grip on the region.
