LONG BEACH – Wilson survived a late comeback by Compton and won 23-21 in a Moore League game Friday.

The Bruins’ defense made a stop on a potential game-tying, 2-point conversion to secure the victory.

The Bruins (5-1, 2-0) seemingly had control of the game after running back Kori Scott scored on a 13-yard run in the opening seconds of the fourth quarter. The touchdown gave Wilson a 23-8 lead with 11:53 left.

However, the Tarbabes (3-4, 1-2) refused to go quietly.

Despite a difficult night for Compton starting quarterback Leton Washington, he put together a couple of tremendous drives that gave the team a chance to tie the game.
