Residents living near HMP Birmingham are fuming, claiming that the prison is cleaner than their streets due to ongoing bin strikes.

The Winson Green prison, notorious for housing infamous criminals like Fred West, is currently in better condition than the surrounding areas, according to locals - who say "posher" parts of the city aren't facing the same issue.

Birmingham City Council says it's trying to get on top of the fly-tipping.

In contrast, the exterior of the category B prison appears immaculate, leading locals to suspect that prisoners are experiencing a "better quality of life" within its walls.
