The Indiana football team has again proven itself among worth contenders for a College Football Playoff bid.
The Hoosiers evaded a couple of difficult games in its minefield of a schedule, putting themselves in good position mathematically to make the CFP regardless of how their two toughest tests — at Oregon and Penn State — go.
Those aforementioned wins, a 63-10 dismissal of Illinois and a gritty 20-15 prove-it win at Iowa , were critical to IU's mission. It also made Curt Cignetti 's Indiana 16-2 during his tenure.
