At just 16, Sabri is set to make history at Kerala Kalamandalam, the renowned university for classical dance in Kerala. She will become the first Muslim girl to perform the traditional Kathakali dance drama since the institute's founding in 1930.

Her debut, alongside her classmates, will see her take on the Krishna vesham, performing in the role of Krishna, a role she has long cherished.

Speaking to PTI, Sabri said her "dream was going to become a reality," and expressed, "I am happy I am getting to perform the dance that I always wanted to."

Despite initial difficulties, she now manages both and looks forward to learning 'chutti', the intricate facial makeup of Kathakali performers, which will be introduced as a subject next year.
