Mangaluru, Oct 4: A clash broke out between police personnel and a group of youths during the Dasara procession in Ullal on Friday night after the police halted the loudspeakers of some tableaux.

Police detained three youths — Rakshith, Ashish, and Ashwath — on charges of obstructing police duty. Following this, members of the public suspended the procession and staged a protest in front of the Ullal police station, demanding their immediate release.

The Dasara procession, organized as part of the water immersion ritual at Sharada Niketan, had passed through Ullal Pete, Vidyaranya Nagar, and the internal roads of Cheermb Bhagavathi Kshetra before reaching Abbakka Circle near the Ullal police station.
