Mysuru, Oct 4: The Dasara procession and Panjina Kavayathu sub-committee has announced prizes for the art troupes that showcased outstanding performances during the Mysuru Dasara Jamboo Savari parade.

The ‘Hulivesha’ (tiger dance) team of Padubailur, Udupi district, led by Nagaraj Aithal, bagged the first prize and received a cash award of Rs 15,000.

The second prize went to the Gorava Kunita performances, shared by R M Shivamallu of the Bhakta Kanakadasa Gorava Kunita troupe from Chamarajanagar district and Channamallegowda of the Sharapani Mailaralingeshwara Gorava team from Kuvempunagar, Mysuru. Both received Rs 5,000 each.

The teams from Parvati Mallappa Sangolga of Bidar and Gandhi Nagar Tanda of Yadgir secured the third place, winning Rs 2,500 ea
