The Madhya Pradesh BJP Government on Saturday banned the sale of ‘Coldrif’ cough syrup across the state with immediate effect, following the deaths of at least nine kids in Chhindwara district due to kidney failure, suspected to have been caused by the consumption of this syrup.

MP CM Dr Mohan Yadav informed on X that ‘Coldrif’ syrup has been banned throughout MP. The CM also said that strict action would be ensured against all those found guilty in any way regarding the deaths of the children.

Dr Yadav informed that the syrup manufacturing factory is located in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu.
