Odisha CID Crime Branch made a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam.
Officials uncovered an organized criminal syndicate that manipulated the examination process for profit. Biswaranjan Behera (29), a resident of Bidyadharpur in Cuttack, played an active role in the operation. Acting under instructions from the syndicate’s leader, he contacted aspirants, collected original certificates and blank cheques, and passed them to higher-level operatives.
Investigators found clear evidence of conspiracy. Behera’s actions showed coordination and intent to subvert the recruitment process conducted by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB).
