GREENWOOD – On paper, the Class 5A third-ranked Cathedral Fighting Irish were projected to roll over Friday night against unbeaten 6A second-ranked Center Grove at Ray Skillman Stadium.
Instead, Cathedral (5-2) got defensive and built an 18-0 lead after three quarters before winning its fourth straight, 21-15, to spoil the Trojans’ homecoming festivities.
A perfectly timed RPO completion from senior quarterback Cameron Koers to junior Ollie Lewis for an 80-yard touchdown broke a scoreless tie in the second quarter, and the Irish defense and senior placekicker Van Krisiloff took care of the rest.
