KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Petitions are circulating among Kansas House members to get the two-thirds of needed signatures to call a special session on mid-decade redistricting of Kansas Congressional districts.

Senate petitions are expected to go out soon. And now there are calls for a special session by the Kansas attorney general to deal with gender markers on driver’s licenses. It appears the state is headed toward one, to focus on redistricting and potentially more.

Guests this week debate the issues: State Rep. Pat Proctor, a Republican from Leavenworth, and State. Sen. Patrick Schmidt, a Democrat from Topeka.

The target: the Kansas 3rd Congressional District and the state’s only Democrat in Congress, Sharice Davids.
