A group of seven suspects was arrested early Sunday morning after a smash-and-grab burglary and brief police chase at Sunvalley Mall in Concord, according to police. Around 3:52 a.m. on October 5, Concord police dispatchers received a call from mall security reporting a large group of people breaking through glass doors to get inside the mall. Officers arrived within minutes and spotted the suspects as they were running out. Four suspects jumped into a vehicle and sped away, leading officers on a short pursuit that ended when the driver lost control and crashed. Police said the driver ran from the scene but was later found hiding in nearby bushes. The three passengers who stayed in the vehicle were immediately arrested.
