A year removed from her silver medal Olympic performance, Canadian weightlifter Maude Charron showed that she’s still in peak form.
The 32-year-old from Rimouski, Que. had a stellar showing in the 63 kilogram division at the IWF World Weightlifting Championship, held in Forde, Norway, which runs from Oct. 2 to 11.
A 2020 Olympic gold medalist and a silver medalist last year in Paris, Charron placed third in the snatch (103 kilograms) and second in the clean and jerk (133 kilograms) and won a silver medal for her combined total of both lifts. She finished behind North Korea’s Ri Suk (253 kilograms total).
