A “traumatic” road rage incident witnessed by several bystanders in North Vancouver has left one driver in police custody and another in hospital in critical condition.

The incident happened on Saturday at around 3 p.m., when police received several reports of a road rage confrontation unfolding near Boulevard Crescent and East 21st Street.

It is alleged that a grey Subaru and a white Jeep were involved in a dispute over merging. The driver of the Jeep exited their vehicle and was struck by the grey Subaru.

North Vancouver RCMP responded immediately and took the driver of the Subaru in custody. The victim is fighting for their life in hospital.
