Liberal MP Andrew Hastie has been singled out in secret submissions to the party’s election review for failing to deliver key policy work ahead of the May 3 election.

According to the SMH , former opposition leader Peter Dutton accused Mr Hastie of going “on strike” during the last term.

The submissions appeared to argue that Mr Hastie, who held the shadow defence portfolio, did not complete an adequate review into Defence Department spending.

The Coalition’s flagship defence policy was criticised during the election campaign for lacking detail on what the major injection of funds would be spent on.

Mr Dutton also appeared to allege that Mr Hastie “declined to joust with Labor in the media” on defence matters, leaving a gap in the opposition’s attacks.
