A bushfire that burned thousands of hectares and forced the evacuation of campers on Moreton Island, north of Brisbane, has been brought under control.
Investigations are continuing into the blaze, which is thought to have been sparked by a campfire lit on Saturday morning inside the fire ban zone.
Over the weekend, the fire was rated as watch and act, but the warning was downgraded to advice level on Monday.
The rapidly-moving blaze, which firefighters battled over the weekend and throughout the night on Saturday, burned 2,300 hectares on the 37-kilometre island before it was contained.
About 20 campers were relocated over the weekend due to the fire in the island's north.
