A COURT has been told special "approval" is needed by the state's top prosecutor to confirm the surveillance recording charges against a Tamworth man.
The man, aged in his 50s, cannot be named due to a court order, but remains behind bars accused of 10 offences in South Tamworth.
He's been in custody since his February arrest in Tamworth by Oxley detectives.
Solicitor for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Jemima Crane, told Tamworth Local Court there was no charge certificate to file to confirm the charges as yet.
Magistrate Julie Soars noted the case was past the deadline for the prosecution to certify the charges it would proceed with to the district court.
