Thousands of Glasgow renters are paying the price for a 'total failure' to deal with mouldy and damp-ridden homes wreaking havoc on their lives.
Glaswegians are facing skyrocketing reports of mould and damp which has swept across the city since 2019, a Glasgow Live investigation reveals. While Scotland has faced a 200 per cent hike in the number of reports by social tenants, Glasgow has seen a stark increase of 500 per cent - making homes in the city among the worst in the country.
The data, obtained through Freedom of Information Requests to every local authority and housing association, shows that reports have skyrocketed from 8,712 to 26,514 across Scotland and 758 to 4,609 in Glasgow.
