Maggi Vs Maggisun Case: The Delhi High Court has closed a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by Nestlé SA, the parent company of the popular instant noodle brand Maggi, after the FMCG giant reached a settlement with the defendant.

The case, which was originally filed in 2018 by Societe Des Produits Nestlé SA, was against Shankeshwar Utensils & Appliances Pvt. Ltd., which had been manufacturing utensils under the brand name “Maggisun." Nestlé argued that the name was deceptively similar to its iconic Maggi trademark.

Justice Tejas Karia decreed the suit on September 22 after the defendant agreed to discontinue the use of the “Maggisun" name or any other mark resembling “Maggi."
