Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story is streaming on Netflix now and many viewers of the true crime series are wondering how much is real and how much is simply creative licence on the part of the creators.

The show features various real-life figures, including Adeline Watkins (played by Suzanna Son), who was depicted as Ed Gein’s (Charlie Hunnam) girlfriend, Psycho Norman Bates actor Anthony Perkins (Joey Pollari) and Nazi war criminal Ilse Koch (Vicky Krieps).

The Ed Gein Story is billed as a true crime series and does depict many of the grisly acts committed by the disturbed, undiagnosed schizophrenic.
