SRINAGAR : A lawyer allegedly attempted to hurl footwear at Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gavai inside the Supreme Court on Monday, disrupting court proceedings. Follow Us On G -N e w s | Whatsapp

The incident as per Hindustan Times , took place while a Bench led by the CJI was hearing mentioning of cases by advocates. Despite the commotion, Justice Gavai remained composed and urged lawyers to continue with their submissions. “Don’t get distracted by all this. We aren’t distracted. These things don’t affect me,” he was quoted as saying by Bar and Bench.

As the lawyer was escorted out of the courtroom, he was reportedly heard shouting, “Sanatan ka apman nahi sahenge” (We will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan).
