A woman charged with murder over the death of her partner has had the charge downgraded after police investigations.
The 52-year-old man was found dead at a house in the city of Port Pirie, north of Adelaide, on Friday at 1.25pm.
Emergency services tried to revive him in the Dorothy Street home.
His partner, a 42-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with murder that evening.
However after a post-mortem, initial charges against the woman were downgraded to aggravated assault.
She was granted bail to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court on November 11.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
