President Donald Trump's 20-point proposal to end the war in Gaza includes an immediate end to the war, returning all Israeli hostages, both alive and dead, and giving power to a politically independent Palestinian body.

Hamas says it is ready to enter negotiations for the release of the hostages, but has yet to accept all 20 of the points in the proposal.

President Trump posted on Truth Social on Saturday afternoon writing in part, “After negotiations, Israel has agreed to the initial withdrawal line, which we have shown to, and shared with, Hamas. When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal...”
