The Age report “ Gambling giant faces legal action over gambling losses ” (6/10), provides a stark picture of the collateral damage that problem gambling unleashes on unsuspecting victims. The well-documented harms from problem gambling impact all domains of life – health (physical and psychological), financial, relationships, work and study (Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, September 2023), not only for the problem gambler but those within their family and friendship circles.
