PALO ALTO, Calif. — No. 6 Louisville (12-2, 4-0 ACC) extended its win streak to five matches Sunday afternoon, upsetting No. 4 Stanford (12-3, 3-1 ACC) 3-1 to end its West Coast swing.
The Cardinals dropped set one 25-21 before taking set two (25-18) and set three (25-20) and winning set four in extra points 26-24 to complete the comeback. The team ended Stanford's 20-match home win streak and also defeated its second ranked opponent of the season.
Four Cardinals had double-digit kills: sophomore outside hitter Payton Petersen (15), junior outside hitter Chloe Chicoine (13), redshirt senior middle blocker Cara Cresse (13) and freshman opposite hitter Kalyssa Blackshear (11).
