Temperatures will remain mild through Tuesday before cooling significantly after the front passes, bringing much-needed rainfall to New Jersey on Wednesday morning.

The rain is forecast to arrive Tuesday night and continue through early Wednesday morning, with most areas likely receiving between one-half and three-quarters of an inch of precipitation.

The National Weather Service says the rainfall will be beneficial and does not anticipate any significant flooding concerns. Some spots could see 1 inch of rain or more.

Temperatures to start the week will be in the mid-70s to low 80s on Monday and Tuesday, with increasing cloud cover ahead of the approaching cold front.

By Wednesday afternoon, temperatures will drop to around 70 degrees, marking the beginning of a cooler weather pattern.
