Concerned Nelsonians will hold a forum on potential changes in medical care, food safety and food availability in the county at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at The Nelson Center in Lovingston.

Speakers will include:

Michael Cook – Partner and co-chair of Liles Parker Health Care Group, who practices health care law, and was an attorney at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services overseeing regulations for Medicaid Program, will speak on Medicaid funding

Dr. Wayne Hachey – Member of the Wintergreen Rescue Squad, will speak about the Nelson Community Paramedicine Program. The grant for the program was awarded to Wintergreen Rescue to serve all of Nelson County. The program employs paramedics to do home visits with the goal of improving the health of at-risk Nelsonians
