In India, doctors, especially from the private sector are prescribing over 50 crore antibiotics every year. Due to this, India is set to become the primary centre for Antimicrobial resistance. Especially in the case of childhood diarrhoea, 70% of cases receive unnecessary antibiotics, fuelling antimicrobial resistance.
