WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A man is in police custody after a 911 call claiming that he was was in possession of a firearm and being belligerent, according to the Warwick Police Department.

Police responded to the 52 Blake Street home at approximately 12:30 a.m. Monday when the female 911 caller, the subject’s sister, and two other residents exited the building.

The subject of the call refused to exit the building at the request of Warwick officers and he was believed to be in possession of a firearm, according to Warwick PD.

The subject was known to police and was prohibited from firearm possession.

Warwick PD SWAT and Crisis Negotiation personnel arrived on the scene and the subject continued to refuse compliance with officers.
