YOUNGSTOWN A new boiler has arrived at the SOBE Thermal Energy Systems Plant in downtown Youngstown over the weekend.
The new boiler had arrived from Virginia on Sunday, October 5, and is currently sitting in a truck on the property. The boiler will be fully up and running once it passes an inspection by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
This comes after the Wabash-owned mobile boiler that the plant originally had been using to supply steam had be repossessed following a court order. That boiler was responsible for heating and cooling 27 buildings in downtown Youngstown.
Soon after this, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) appointed Reg Martin as a receiver to manage SOBE. Martin previously held this role in a related case involving Youngstown Thermal Cooli
