You can already feel a change in the air; fall temperatures are just around the corner.

Light, intermittent rain showers will remain north and west of Kansas City through the day, though a brief shower cannot be ruled out for the metro this afternoon. Advertisement

Highs will be near 80 degrees. Overnight, light showers are possible for most communities, and a rumble of thunder is possible as a cold front sweeps southward across the region.

Any lingering showers behind the front should dissipate early Tuesday as drier, chillier north winds prevail.
