SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

The start of the workweek will be closer to average in Northern California.

Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Monday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 84 degrees, up from the 81 degrees recorded Sunday. The average for this time of year is 83 degrees.

Residents in the Foothills could see highs in the upper 70s, while the Sierra may peak in the lower 60s.

The morning will be chilly and may require a jacket for some, but the warmth will be present by the afternoon.

Berg said the warmest day of the week is likely to be Tuesday, with highs in the upper 80s. However, an onshore flow set to return by midweek could bring temperatures back below average by Thursday.
