A new twist has emerged in Mark Sanchez’s case following his arrest in Indianapolis over the weekend.
The former NFL quarterback, now a color commentator for FOX Sports, was stabbed in the chest early Saturday morning but is thought to have been the aggressor in the altercation which it stemmed from.
He was initially charged with three misdemeanors but is now facing a felony charge of battery involving serious bodily harm, according to ABC News.
The outlet cites local prosecutors, who added the charge after investigators learned the severity of the victim’s injuries.
Sanchez was hospitalized and required surgery, but he was placed under arrest while in medical care and booked immediately after being discharged.
