As announced over the summer, the city of Chandler is planning for what it states are "needed" utility rate increases.
The city has announced a schedule of public meetings related to the proposed rate changes, according to a news release. The first meeting is Thursday, Oct. 9, 5:30 p.m. in the council chamber at City Hall, 88 E. Chicago Street.
The propsed increass are for water (15%), wastewater (15%), reclaimed water (18%) and solid waste (6%). City staff state the increases to cover higher operating costs and increases to infrastructure projects.
