Dhaka, Oct 6: Dengue continues to pose a serious health threat in Bangladesh, with three more deaths reported in the last 24 hours as of Monday morning, pushing the 2025 fatality count to 215. The latest deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation and Khulna Division, according to data from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the same period, 782 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, bringing the total number of confirmed cases this year to 50,689. Of the current hospitalised patients, 851 are in Dhaka, while 2,473 are being treated across other parts of the country. Men continue to represent a higher share of the infected, accounting for 60.9% of new cases.
In 2024, Bangladesh recorded 575 dengue-related deaths and over
