Sydney Sweeney received the Hamptons International Film Festival’s Achievement in Acting award for the upcoming film, Christy. Directed by David Michod, the biographical sports drama film about the former professional boxer Christy Martin features the actress in the real-life trailblazing titular role.
After receiving the award, Sydney Sweeney indulged in a post-screening Q&A session with HIFF Chief Creative Officer David Nugent. There she talked about the boxer’s involvement with the project, and she has learnt a lot about her from Martin being often present on set. “She kind of became my best friend. Having her with us was a really powerful experience," the 28-year-old said.
