(Gray News) - In President Donald Trump’s first TikTok post in office, and since 2024, he said he “saved” the app.

“To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” Trump said. “And now, you’re looking at me in the Oval Office, and someday one of you is going to be sitting right at this desk, and you’re going to be doing a great job also.”

Although a deal with TikTok has not been finalized, Trump signed an executive order last week approving a deal involving a group of U.S. buyers, including Oracle, for the app.

TikTok has not commented on the executive order or a deal to keep it running in the U.S.

TikTok went dark in the U.S. briefly on January 18, before Trump signed executive orders to keep the app going until a U.S. buyer is found.
