Calgary voters can head to the polls starting Monday, as advance voting begins ahead of the Oct. 20 municipal election.

Advance voting will be available until Oct. 11.

There are 42 location across the city that are open from, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m..

Voters can use the Where Do I Vote Tool to find a location closest to them.

Ballots cast during the advance vote, including special (mail-in) ballots, will be counted by hand at the counting centre after &:30 p.m. on election day, Oct. 20.

Elections Calgary says ballot counting is expected to take two days due to the volume of votes cast and the legislative requirement from Bill 20 to count ballots by hand.

Official election results will be available at noon on Oct. 24.
