A printing error led to absentee voters in Rush receiving ballots that were already filled out.

Over the last couple of weeks, 33 residents in Rush received their absentee voting ballots in the mail, but every bubble was already filled in, rendering the ballots invalid. David McGlashon, Rush Town Council candidate and Town Leader for the Rush Democratic Party, told News 8 general elections for a town with fewer than 4,000 residents like Rush, those few dozen votes can make all the difference.

“The biggest concern is our local elections here are really close to elections, and they want to make sure their voice is heard and counted in this election,” he said. “It comes down to in the teens sometimes. So 33 votes could make the difference in a town like Rush.”
